After two years of listening to feedback from the public and city officials, iPic Theaters garnered the approval of the Mayor and City Commissioners of Delray Beach around 1 a.m. last night. The decision followed nearly 6 hours of testimony by iPic, city staff, and the public who came out to make their voices heard. The surprise of the night was the number of residents once against iPic who went on record to let the Commission know that they were now supporting the theater.
Also speaking in support of iPic was former Delray Beach Mayor Tom Lynch. Lynch is well respected in the community and considered by many as a founding Father of “the Village by the Sea”. His appearance marks one of only three times he’s ever come out to support a project since leaving the office of Mayor.
The Victory Group is proud to have been a part of such a special project that will bring an iconic building, and world-class theater to Delray Beach. Our team, in collaboration with others, produced a TV spot for iPic Theaters, facilitated an online messaging campaign to reach Delray Beach residents and the City Commission, and developed iPicDelray.com as an information portal for those seeking information on the project.
Congratulations to our client, iPic Theaters, and to the people of Delray Beach who will be getting a wonderful addition to their downtown community!
See you at the movies!
