Senior Fellow at Tufts University, Adam Goodman, joined Trip Scott Law Firm President Ed Pozzouli and Fox Business host Charles Payne to discuss tariffs.
Payne started the conversation by outlining the history of tariffs in the United States, and how they have been used through the years to elevate America’s standing in the world. Then Goodman weighed in with his own historical perspective.
“Henry George was a noted economist of the 19th century who was really against protectionism. And he warned that tariffs were essentially declarations of war. Yet in the same work, he also said good and fair trade is the extinguisher of war,” said Goodman.
