Adam Goodman made his first appearance on Fox Business News’ Varney & Co. to discuss Chris Christie’s recent comments on Donald Trump. New Jersey Governor Christie stated that Trump doesn’t have the right temperament to be President despite his reputation for speaking unfiltered to the press.
“Instead of going after something with a scalpel, he goes after it with a sledge hammer,” said Goodman of Christie.
Goodman told viewers that Christie and others might be taking Donald Trump’s candidacy more seriously now that his poll numbers have steadily risen despite several public faux pas and less-than flattering press.
“He’s moved from entertainment to contender,” said Goodman. “He checks a couple boxes. He’s an outsider. He tells it like it is. Those are very important with the American public.”
Host Stuart Varney also showed Trump’s recent social media post juxtaposing President Obama and the Clintons enjoying recreational time with Jihadi John and fires in Benghazi respectively to call out politicians having fun while “the world is burning.”
“What he’s really saying is ‘get the politicians out of the way, let’s go get the bad guys and get everything fixed’,” said Goodman. “There’s a diabolical part to the Trump phenomenon. He’s criticizing the very system that he himself benefited from.”
“It’s both hypocritical and diabolical, and so far he has not been called on it.”
